1. Truck Volume (Cubic Yards)
Standard commercial hauling trucks contain 12 to 16 cubic yards of space. Crews are trained to stack items tightly to optimize the truck. Pricing is tiered in increments: 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, and full truck.
2. Weight & Dense Materials
Extremely dense materials—including concrete, bricks, soil, gravel, and ceramic tile—reach highway weight limits before filling the truck. These are priced as bed-load rates or per-ton surcharge scales.
3. Environmental Recycling Fees
Transfer stations impose mandatory recycling fees on certain items. Refrigerators require EPA certified Freon degassing ($40–$60), mattresses require textile stripping ($25–$45), and tires require shred fees ($15–$25).
4. Labor & Access Logistics
If items are curbside, the crew can load in 10 minutes. If items require carrying down multiple flights of stairs, navigating narrow basements, or hauling across a 150-foot lawn, a labor adjustment applies.
